Newton, MA. (September 3, 2019) — EBS Insurance Brokers, in Newton, Massachusetts and Springfield, Massachusetts, will use Motion Connected’s technology platform for their 2019 Client Activity Challenge, which encourages employees to improve their health with wellness-related activities.

Twenty-four of EBS’ clients will compete in this year’s Challenge, which is free for clients to participate and runs for six weeks this Fall. Teams of employees will be challenged to collectively accumulate, on average, at least 5,000 walking steps per day. Both companies and individuals who stand out in performance and effort are recognized and will win wellness-related prizes.

A 2019 sponsor of the annual Challenge, Motion Connected is on a mission to bring affordable and effective wellness programs to employers of all sizes through wellness activity tracking solutions.

“We are excited to be the technology platform working with EBS this year. They have given us the opportunity to engage more workforces in physical activity, which has a proven, positive impact on overall health and wellbeing,” says Sarah Dworak, Business Development Manager at Motion Connected.

Levels of physical activity inadequate to meet current guidelines are associated with a significant financial burden for the U.S. health care system.  69 percent of healthcare costs are heavily influenced by employee behaviors. 11 percent of healthcare costs are due to lack of physical activity alone. Regular physical activity is an easy solution to cutting healthcare costs while improving overall mental health. EBS understands that a lack of financial resources and time to plan wellness programs is a major issue for employers, so they have made it their mission to proactive source and stand up new, innovative programs that challenge employers to improve their physical and mental wellbeing, inside and outside of the workplace.

“We want to support our clients on their journey to optimal health and have fun along the way,” says EBS Director, Population Health Strategy and Well-being, Valeria Tivnan. “We chose Motion Connected because of their user-friendly and engaging platform. In addition, they have an outstanding customer service team. “

Other sponsors and contributors of EBS’ Client Activity Challenge have included reputable brands who have made wellness their mission, including Walking Spree, Wellness Workdays, Ompractice and Mindario.
